TH700 issues - rebuilding soon
Hi all!
Some days ago my transmission was mad at me and started to slip in 2nd and 4th gear. So I think I can be sure about that being a band-related issue. Strange thing is that my 2nd gear slips almost completely while my 4th gear by "only" ~15% ( at 60mph the rpms are about 300 too high )
I did a rebuild of my tranny about 1 year ago, allover new clutches and steels ( borg warner high energy clutches+koleene steels etc etc).
But on some point I did something just terribly wrong, I'm pretty sure this is caused by my Transgo Stage2 Shiftkit which may be not correctly installed. Maybe I messed up with some springs.
Since the rebuild the tranny does not do "overrun braking" (is that term correct for manual downshifting to let the engine slow down your vehicle? ).
Has someone had such a problem? I could shift to 1 at 140mph without any effects. The only thing it does is changing between 3rd and 4th gear when I move the shifter. shifter positions 2&1 just lock the upshifting right now.
In the next couple of weeks I'll teardown my transmission as far as I have to do. have a part-out tranny to swap some parts ( I primarily want to get rid of the shiftkit and get back to original state, and for sure get my gears back to normal condition ).
Does anyone think those problems sound familiar in conjunction with a messed up shiftkit installation?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Alex
