T5 Hurst Shifter Handle Too Long
I purchased a new Hurst shifter for my T5 WC transmission. The handle is 9" long, and seems to be too high when installed into the car. Does Hurst make a shorter handle, or do I just cut the current handle off and re-tread?

No reason you couldn't cut & re-thread; don't know of any other handle, but it's fairly generic so it might be possible.
That one is like 8" shorter than a stock one though; already a MASSIVE improvement. At least, the one I put in my car back in about 85, was. I got rid of that sucky stock thing that felt about like an iced-tea spoon stuck in a bowl of oatmeal THE INSTANT a replacement appeared on the market. About the first mod I did to the car, after literally changing stations on the radio with my knuckles while shifting to 3rd on a regular basis.
