I know theres alot of posts about this, but everything i look at gives a different answer so i figured id see what i could find out.

Finally got about everything done on my lt1 3rd gen swap, only thing i cant figure out is the whole speed sensor stuff. Its a 95 Lt1, so can i just get a speed sensor for a 95 4l60e and put in the 700R4, or do i have to swap out the reluctor ring to? What about the dakota box? any other way to make it work?

I have the torque converter lock-up kit on it, and its got 3.42 gears. Im really not to worried about the speedometer right now, i just want to make sure when i get it out it runs right.

Thanks
Cody

I just finished installing a 4th gen trans in my 3rd gen and had this issue. You have two options. either use the dakota box (expensive and kind of a pain to configure). Or option two (the one i chose), use a dremel and cut the reluctor ring off and then install the speedo gear from the third gen onto it using the 3rd gen speedo clip. You can also heat up the ring and slip it off but it was easier for me just to cut it off. there are two holes in the shaft that it mounts onto. You want to use the hole closest to the front of the car to put the third gen clip into while sliding the plastic speedo gear on. simple as that.

Yes.
Yes.
No.
N/A.
The PCM has an output wire to drive your speedo. You'll just need to correct for the 3.42 rear gears when you get a tune.

You have the TV cable set up too, right?
