Torque Converter Failure

I found a deal on a rebuilt 4l60e transmission with a shift kit in it so I went and picked it up Sunday of last week. It came with a new B&M 2400 Torque Converter. Tuesday night I decided to goto work and put it in overnight since the 4l60e in my t/a progressively got worst. I finished putting it my car and drove it home with no problems. Shifting felt really good, and I got on it a couple times everything seemed to hold up. Wednesday morning I ran my girlfriend to college, and ran a few errands and decided to stop at home for a little bit until I had to go get her. I pulled out of my driveway, and got on it hard. Car shifted in to 2nd, then as it went to shift into 3rd all I heard was a loud BANG from what sounded around the front of the transmission. I completely lost all gears. I pulled into a shop that's literally a mile and a half up the road from my house until I was able to get it pulled back to my house. When you start the car it starts whining immediately. I got under the car with it running and i'm almost 100% certain the whining is coming from inside the TC. When you shut the car off, you can hear something freewheeling inside the TC and then it finally comes to a stop about 5-6 seconds later. I checked the pressure of the trans which turned out to be okay and to rule out that it is the pump that went up. Was wondering if anyone had any similar experience with their torque converter failing like this.
