Upholstery Guy has Stall Questions...Need Help!
Okay guys please don't poke fun I'm no good at trans missions, so I hope some one on here can help. I want to know what would be the best stall for normal street and some off the line capabilities. I have a 87 TA with a th350 and a 350 4bolt chevy crate with 650 cfm edelbrock and torker 2 intake. The gearing I'm putting in is a 3.42. I don't know what the current stall is, and my friend told me to go with a 3500 stall but that seems to high for what I want to do. Third Gen please help me!

The cam is stock what ever came in the 350 chevy crate. I believe it's this Camshaft type (P/N 3896962): Hydraulic flat tappet
Camshaft lift (in): .450 intake/.460 exhaust
The powerband I have no idea.

As much as I understand transmissions, I never got a good grasp on stall converters than driving one.
I twitch at the thought of no overdrive with 3.42 rear so I will withhold recommendation.

with that combo I would pick up a 3000 lockup converter.
