Upgrade Torque Converter?
Hi Guys,
I'm currently using a mostly factory 700r4 with my setup (see sig). In the next few months, I will be replacing it with a 700r4 from ProBuilt or another known vendor.
Until then, my HSR and Hughes 2500 stall seems to be sluggish off the line until I hit the HSR's power-band. I can't even spin my tires. I had 3:73's installed hoping this would help but it didn't make a huge difference. Would upgrading to a higher stall or smaller torque converter help get me moving (and spinning
) off the line?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I would call Dana at Probuilt. Tell him your engine specs. gears. etc. And see what he recomend for you. I think with 3.73 a higher stall converter might be what you need. He will want to know your camshaft specs also. Good luck. Use Probuilt I have heard nothing but good stuff about him.

Call up one of the many aftermarket vendors and give you specs and see what they recommend. I know the converter needs to be matched with the cam to get the most out of both.
