Need some advise on which ratio to go with

Ok, I recently went through the whole rear end in my camaro. Since then I have put about 2 miles on it since I jerked the CFI motor and T5 for a LT1 and T56 combo. The T56 is of the 96 vintage, so according to ronnjonn my gear ratios as follows: 2.66 / 1.78 / 1.30 /1.00 / 0.74 / 0.50.

When I originally built the rear end I had an automatic so I put 3.23 gears back into it. As far as I know, no manual car came with anything but 3.42 and lower gears.

So now I am debating on getting either 3.73 or 4.10 gears. There is no point in going through the work to replace the 3.23 gears with 3.42's. This will be my daily driver with mixed freeway and stop and go traffic. Gas Mileage of course is a concern.

I am leaning 3.73's. What are your thoughts and opinions?

Re: Need some advise on which ratio to go with

How can you do a poll without first establishing which set of ratios your T56 has?
In '93, the LT1 / T56 combo came standard with a 2.73:1 axle, and the T56 had a 3.36 / 2.07 / 1.35 / 1.00 / 0.80 / 0.62 set. But there was a 3.23:1 option with a 2.97 / 2.07 / 1.43 / 1.00 / 0.80 / 0.62 set. Then in '94, both of those were dropped in favor of the 3.42:1 with 2.66 / 1.78 / 1.30 /1.00 / 0.74 / 0.50 set that continued as the only T56 gearing through the end of the '02 production.
With the 2.66 - 0.50 set, I'd say 4.10:1 for sure.

Well it is a 96 tranny.

So with that you suggest 4.10's? I guess that would make sense with that over drive.
