Re: tranny swap!

ehhhh, not really i would think. what motor do you have? tbi or tpi? there are some parts you could use if you source other pieces. tbi trucks 93-95 used the 4l60e, you could change your computer and harness for use with that. tpi you could try ob2 swap. lots of info on both swaps. just search alittle and youll find alot on both subjects.

Re: tranny swap!

Around here you can buy used 700R4's for about $350 with a 90 day warranty. Not sure on prices of used T-5's, but can't be much different. For the cost of trying to get a 4L60E tranny to work, you could swap in a T-56. I'd sell the 4L60E and buy a T-56, or try to trade with someone.

Re: tranny swap!

why not just find a good used t5/wct5? that would be cheaper than trying to piece together 2 different cars into one. besides, a 5 speed bird is rather uncommon.

Re: tranny swap!

lol. would cost too much to send and i sold my last one. ive stored alot of parts from various projects and on craigslist locally prices arent high for anything. i sat on these for 2 yrs and then all sold in a week. weird but people towing stuff in there trucks want our transmissions? i have to agree with 86ta, just replace what you have as going standard to auto does require a few changes where it can total more then you may be willing to spend. im sure you can find something local to you at a good price. just hunt! lol. good luck man
