what broke?
Passed 2 days or so I had what sounded like an exaust leak. Today I noticed that gears were running longer under normal driving. Was just on my way to pick up my girlfriend from work, was sitting at a light then there was a loud clunck and the car stalled out. Car restarted, put it in gear and nothing. No forward gears no reverse. Every gear except park is pretty much just another nuetral now.
Never had any tranny problems with this car the 11 years I've owned it. Its a 700r4. Original trans. No swaps or anything done. Fluid is good.
Thanks in advance.

Re: what broke?
Have a spot where I can tear apart w/e to go thru and check things just need some info on what to/ how to check parts it could be.
A lil more info.
Car has always shifted crisp and smooth, up and down. No slipping, no hesitation from a stop always just goes. After the clunk and stall sitting at the light I pushed the car to the side checked the spot where it happened no fluid or debris on the road. No signs of a leak. No smoke from under the car. Revd the engine in all gears, was no grinding or trying to catch. Was no grinding prior to this happening either. No ses code. Had to coast down a hill after checking things out to get to somewhere I could park it. Got to 35-40 and tried all the gears again(except reverse) no change ehile moving. Uhhh... 104,000 on the odo. Going from park into gear not even the slightest jump or noise like its trying to catch a gear. It was late, but I'm 90% the tv cable was still connected (under the hood atleast) if that makes a diff.
Anything I missed just ask, ill be sitting here banging my head on the table til I hear back from friends about getting a trailer to get it to where I can work on it.
As always thanks in advance

Re: what broke?
Sounds like what happened when I blew apart my planetary gear set in my old Blazer. Lost all forward gears, but had reverse. Go figure.....can't make it home on reverse!
If it makes you feel any better, I am installing 4L60E #3 in my 05 Colorado next week. Both times (44k, and 114k) I was driving along the interstate running 70mph, and it dropped out of 4th. First time I could make it home in 3rd. 2nd time I was 250 miles from home, and lost all forward gears if the fluid was warm, so the wife had to bring up our TB and pull me home.....

Re: what broke?
It's either the converter or the pump IMO. Pull it out or take it the shop. or pull it out and then take it to the shop
