Trans not working after radiator swap.
Okay. If you havent seen all my troubled posts under "Cooling" you should go look. for about a month now, since ive bought this third gen.. ive been having more problems then ever before. The previous owner of my Camaro told me that there was ZERO mechanical problems. He was trying to sell me a 91 Rs v8 for 1k.. I new some problems had to exist but i never expected all this..
The car drove me home fine, from Wisconsin back to illinois. the third day I had it, i took it out for gas.. the radiator blew.. ever since then its been sitting in my drive way.
Last night I went and picked up the new radiator and thermostat. Everything is hooked up EXCEPT for the trans cooling lines. Well, the car still overheats but now THE CAR DOESN'T EVEN MOVE.
I put it in reverse and it wont move. it wont even fast idle out of my drive way it just stands still and every 30 seconds makes a nasty noise and moves back a foot or two. i need help. and if you haven't seen my posts and video logs of my problems under "Cooling" please go look. i truly appreciate it.

If you dont have any or enough transmission fluid , the car will not engage in gear. Meaning it will not even move. Verify your trans fluid level. I think it takes about 5 quarts in your TC and the rest (probably 7 qts or so) should be in your trans.

How can you not have the tranny lines hooked up? As soon as u started the car it would blow all the tranny fluid out the line.

hook up the tranny lines! if youve let it run dry for long its probably in bad shape by now. i believe if its bone dry it takes close to 16 qts to fill. believe tc is 9 or so and the rest settles inside.... i always put in 4 qts at a time unless i am on the dipstick then one qt at a time. and once your on the dipstick start it to get fluid into that poor thing! then pour in more fluid till it starts to go in that cross hatch. when its on the dipstick go inside and start cycling thru the gears to get the fluid into all the ports. dont rev it till its full either!

wow. so there is no trans fluid shooting out of the trans cooler lines? there should be. You probably trashed the trans already,
. Hook the lines up, fill the trans to the proper level and hope for the best.
