Engine: 305 TBI (For now?!?!)
Transmission: Auto-Stock

shifter reconnection help
so I snapped my steering column a while back, got a new one...shut my car off when it snapped and it was stuck in park, had to get it towed home, tow driver disconnected my shifter cable....now I do know HOW to reassemble it but I don't know the positions...right now its in park but is acting as a drive gear. I think I did it wrong >_>

The lever on the tranny should be all the way forward when the selector in the car is in park.
You push the selector up into park, which pushes the cable forward, which pushes the lever on the tranny forward.
