Well I'm thinking are you looking for a gov-loc differential perhaps? The governer is built into the computer to limit speed but I don't think that is what you are actually after.

They're $44 from transmissioncenter.net. What's wrong with your governor? You don't have a local transmission shop to call? No GM dealer?
Re: ive searched and serched
and after calling a dealer looking for a tv cable and they told me discontinued and cant get it why would they have the "governer"
and ive been looking on the internet and i would type in 1990 camaro 3.1 v6 governor and get nothing

The governor is in the driver's side of the transmission, near the rear. It uses a nylon drive gear off the output shaft. If the nylon teeth get too worn, the governor can stop working.
Trying to find a governor is something you go to Aamco for, not Summit or Jegs.
Your stock governor should give a 1-2 upshift, at full throttle, by 5500 rpm.

Right: #43 is the kit of weights and springs to tune a governor.
Odds are, if you buy a #43G, you'll see that it will come with a few of the parts in a #43 in it; and then, even though ot might (or might not?) be any better than whatever you've got now, you'll still have to buy a whole #43 to get it just exactly like you want it.

But the kit won't let you reduce the rpm of the shifts. The kit is good if you buy a new "diesel" governor, Sonnax makes them. Those are for the '82-'89 6.2L diesel / 700R-4 pickups, they shift at 3600-3800 RPM.
Now, if your governor gives 5200 with a 3.42:1, but you use a 3.23:1, it may give 5000 instead.
And there's another thing that affects your results: the line pressure. If you install a shift kit that includes a stiffer spring to regulate pressure, then your 5000 governor may give 5500 with the extra, new, pressure.
5200 is just about right for a stock 2.8L.

Re: ive searched and serched
So their site has lies?
Or do you think the stiffest springs and lightest weights are what was installed in the TPI Vette 700-R4?
So is drilling to reduce weight out of the weights or going with stiffer spring(s).
This kit allows you to raise or lower the shift RPM.
The kit is good if you buy a new "diesel" governor

Re: ive searched and serched
The kit doesn't include heavier weights than stock. Thus, it can't reduce the shift RPM. The only way to make weights heavier than stock is careful welding.
Some stock weights have lightening holes. The "diesel" weights don't.

No response to my first two questions?
That would be what stronger springs are for.
Nor do they need to in order to be lightened.
