Hey everyone i have a 89 RS that was my old car....i swapped in a Borg Warner 7.75" 9 bolt disc brake rear out of a 89 1LE....I just bought a 94 Camaro and am wondering if that rear end will basically just swap in like my last car. GM used the same 7.625" 10 bolt rear forever...so it should just swap in. Am i correct on this, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

 

Yes (the thirdgen rear will be narrower than the fourthgen, should that be an issue). Since the parking brake cables may be a problem, you might do a bit of research.

Well I also have a set of Eibach Pro-Kit springs from my 89 RS....I can use the rear springs, I know that. However, 4th gen's have Macpherson Front suspensions as opposed to 3rd gen's which have mod. macpherson up front Anyone know if the front springs will still swap over in front...?? I also have a Jegster adj. torque arm im gonna swap over as well...plus my wheels from my 3rd gen as well. Finally getting rid of her, the 1st car...89 RS after 12 great years.

I have some good parts if you need something ask i may have it...Parts: limo tinted rear, tinted door windows, hatch,91 Z28 tail-lights, mint condition original dash w/ no sundamage/cracks etc..... custom made Polished aluminum guage cover, undamaged RFfender, the piece de la resistace is the ASCD fiberglass SS hood, ask i may have it, make me an offer.

 

front springs will be different, so they cannot be used.
if you have issues with spacing on the rear regarding tires, 2" wheel spacer/adapters should bring you back to regular 4th gen offset.
if you have abs, you're not going to have any reading from the rear, so that will not work.
ebrake cables may also be a little bit of an issue as JamesC mentioned.
