Info and Help on T5

I have a T5 in my chevelle adn broke down on the Hot Rod Power Tour (tranny wore out so to speak). I am looking for a replacement and seems to be hard to find. Question, the non-world class was used from 83-87 and th world class from 88-92. Are they interchangeable? I have a mechnical clutch setup and wondered about the newer ones and if they used the hyd clutch setup.

Thanks,

Jim Buckingham

Re: Info and Help on T5

The change from mechanical to hydraulic clutch affected only the bellhousing.
Any v8 third gen T5 bolts in place of another.
The speedo gear on the output shaft needs changed (if different)
and the vss and speedo gear need swapped out to what was in your old trans.
That's it.

Re: Info and Help on T5

If it's a W.C. box, a rebuild wouldn't be a terrible option.
What's the metal tailhousing tag (or decal on top) have as a 1352-xxx number?
