T56 Swap NEED HELP!!
T56 Swap NEED HELP!!
I am trying to get my swap going with the help of my dad but he wants me to find out alot of the odd and ends by myself. I currently have a t56 out of an lt1 camaro with 23,000 miles on it. the package came with bellhousing clutch flywheel pressure plate fork cylinders and a set of 4th gen pedals. i also have to vortec 350 waiting to go in. i have a few questions to start off with. Is it alright to use a t5 driveshaft? i think it is if it is after 84? Will the stock inputshaft work? can i modify the current stock crossmember ff of the lt1 trans? where is the best place to get a speedo conversion box? i will have pictures once i get some more batteries. thanks for the help!

Yes. Yes.
Yes.
No.
Don't know about the box.
Don't worry too much about pics unless there's something you don't understand; it's a pretty familiar deal. We've seen it before.

Re: T56 Swap NEED HELP!!
I have a t56 in my 82 bolted to a first gen sbc. If your bolting to a lt1 all should work well. I bought the spohn cross member with the loop. If you have the extra $ get his crossmember with the adjustable ladder bar on it. Makes for a much better setup but it is pricy but I wish I did that instead of mine.

Also, I have the 4th gen pedals. You did get the hydraulic linkage right? If not you will need to buy one. I would get the OEM version. The aftermarket ones I hear have problems with leaks. However this is where I am at right now. The 4th gen pedal bottoms out on my floor before I get enough travel to fully disengage my clutch.
this is my next mod to attempt a fix and allow adjustably to get more through.

check out these for more info. Give me a holler anytime if you think I can answer questions. Overall, it was a lot of work and a lot of money, but well worth it to me. The car just plan comes alive after the switch. I have to admit I also got the rear-end out of the 95 donar. It has a 3.73 so I gained a lot of gear from my odd setup!.
