Trans temp goes crazy, temp gauge or is something wrong?
So I installed a Autometer tranny gauge. I installed it in what I think is the test port. It was right around the top of the shifter. Had a plug in it and sending unit fit right in. Is that the port? I will get a picture if needed.
Anyways guessing I got it right. As soon as the car starts within a min the temperature starts to rise about a degree every 1-2 seconds until maxing the gaugeat 340.
As far as cooling the tranny is being cooled by a B&M Cooler that is popular with 4th gen owners running a high stall like I am (Yank Ss3600). I bypassed the stock cooler on my champion rad. The fans don't turn on since the engine doesn't go past 140 idling.
As I said this is with the car in park idling. All I have done is new filter, Yank Converter and refill.
So what's gonna be the problem here? I didn't over tightened the sending unit just snug if you are wondering.
Help!
