Swapping 4L60 to 4L60E worth it?

I'm getting a 3.4 long block from a 94 Camaro. Am I correct that it should have a 4L60E behind it? If so, is there any advantage to using the trans as well and what is required to convert from tv to electronic control? Can I retain the ..7730 ecm? etc. I'm building the car primarily for auto-x with some street use and may want to set it up to shift manually.

The biggest advantages of the 4L60E versus the 700R4 are the tunability and the lack of TV cable. You'd want the existing harness and ECU from the 3.4L to do the swap. If you keep the 700R4, you will have to figure out the linkage for the TV cable. I'm not 100% sure they made the 3.4 with a 700R4, so that means you're likely going to have to make something your self.
