im swapping a 350 (mild build) in for my currently fat and lazy 305, i'm mating it to my 700r4 that was already behind a 350 in an s10 i dont know if it was built up at all or not, but right now stock set up is TBI, i know that i'll have to deal with the lock up on the converter but what about the trans shifting without the ecm?

that makes alot more sense i know it controls the down shifts.. so in my own theory the transmission works with the TV cable and its position as well as centrifugal force to decide what gear it needs to be in. right? like i said my own theory i really have no idea lol.

Re: hey guys shifting question for a carb swap
TV cable is ALOT diffrerent than the old "kickdown" cables. TV cable actually makes all the shifts, not just the "kickdown" shift for passing. Thus, it's so critical for it to be adjusted correctly, and the only way is the RIGHT way. A TV cable adjusted wrongly can burn upa tranny in as little a a few blocks, where as with a "kickdown" canle tranny could run forever (just not well) without major issue.
