Broken Bolt :(
I was just wondering if I could get any suggestions from you guys. I had a new used 700R4 put into my 84 firebird last week. I drove into town and then back hoem and everything seemed great. Next morning I walk out and there was transmission fluid everywhere. I jacked it up, and on the right side of the pan it was leaking pretty good around the gasket on the pan. We changed the front and rear seal before we put it in, but didn't bother with the pan. So I bought a filter kit, cleaned it all out and replaced it all. It just leaked again. I get to looking, and realize it's missing a bolt. I look further, and the bolt was actually broke off into the hole. I have no real room to work with. I used an ez out type bit under there, but it was sharp enough to drill into the jagged bolt. I cleaned everything up and tried it all again, but put some gasket maker on it, and a lot where the bolt is broke off. Let it cure for 24/hours, drive, and it's leaking just as bad. I just need some suggestions on anything else you have tried for getting it out, as it should be able to just screw right out the top if I can get a hold on it. Thanks

Re: Broken Bolt :(
In my world, this sounds like one of those "should be able to easy out that sucker" things, but in reality it's impossible in the driveway. These things I usually try a local shop, they ahve a lift, and the tools (ie air) to get these PITA's out. Might take a pro 30 minutes and cost you $40 - well worth it.
