Engine: 350, .5 lift cam, Holly 650
Transmission: Monster Transmission 700R4-2K stall
Axle/Gears: 4th gen 10 bolt, 3.42
700r4 rebuild questions
I am about to start working on my 700r4 tranny rebuild. I have a couple of questions...
how can i tell (before removing the transmission) whether i have a 27 or 30 spline?
Also, how long should i expect to have the transmission out if I'm working on 2 hours a day? I have a little experience in auto transmissions, but I've only rebuild a turbo 350 a couple years ago.
Does anybody have any suggestions on where to get the rebuild kit, I want to spend about $300 on it, but i dont want some panzy piece of crap.

Post up the build code on the tranny. IIRC, it's on the rear passenger rail above the pan.
I've got a sheet in the garage that explains how to decode it.
