shifting at higher RPM

just finished swapping my transmission (700r4) it is a new to me transmission. I have been driving it this weekend and it tends to shift at a higher RPM. is this just a tuning thing or is this just something that over a couple of drives will work itself out?

Re: shifting at higher RPM

On a 700R4, you need to adjust the TV cable properly or you can seriously damage it. There's a tutorial on this site on how to do it, go here:

https://www.thirdgen.org/detent

(pay no attention to the pic, it's from a V6 engine, but the instructions are accurate)
