QuickTime Bellhousing 6023 T56
I am working on installing my new D&D BA11 T56 trans onto my SBC TPI engine. So today, I was about to install the QuickTime #6023 Bellhousing and I ran into an issue with the start motor being in the way.
Does anyone know how I can solve this problem in order for the bellhousing to fit. Do I need to grind down the bellhousing and the plate or is there an offset starter motor? If yes what brand and part number?
I notices that the QT bellhousing does not have a "pocket cover" on the bellhousing to cover the starter motor like the stock T5 bellhousing has and how will I solve this problem?
I am also running short SLP headers.
Let me know thanks.

get rid of your L98 starter; it has a larger pinion cone than the LB9 starter.
late 80s through 96 Corvette starters have no pinion cone and work well.
LT1 F-body starters are significantly smaller and lighter than the L98 unit as well.

Thanks for the quick reply.
What is a Pinion Cone on the starter motor? Does it look like a ball round like a "pocket cover" on the end of the starter motor?
It seems like the LT1 starter motor would be the better choice cause you said is smaller and light and that would give me more room for exhaust clearance and able to mount my QT bellhousing over the starter motor, but does the LT1 have a pinion cone?

Yes; here are L98/LB9 starter pics measuring that cone: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/post...502-post4.html
I wouldn't say either is better per se. The Vette one sounds a bit more unique.
Instead of answering your last question, I'll recommend you google pics of "95 corvette starter" and "95 Camaro starter"

I looked up the 1995 Corvette and Camaro to see the comparison of the starter motor, couldn't really tell which one is stock.
I guess the 1995 Corvette dont have the Pinion Cone on the end and just have a flat plate and I think that might be better for my bellhousing to fit over the starter motor, but the bellhousing does not have a "pocket cover" to cover at the end of the starter motor. Will I have a problem without the pocket cover?
The start motor on my car is too low down and touches the bellhouse and plate and needs on offset to push it up more to be in the middle.
Sorry, I am new to this stuff and am trying to understand and what I will need.
