Why run new wires? The TCC can be locked by grounding pin F of the ALDL unless the car is modified unnecessarily. I always run an ECM and haven't done that but a few people have: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tran...c-lock-up.html
Check your wiring against this: http://bangshift.com/forum/showthrea...-lockup-wiring He left out the connection to D on his second attempt; had a fuse popping issue etc.

What size fuse are you using - should be 10-15A. Too small and it will pop as the solenoid pulls in.
Also, just try it with +12 on pin A only, and leave D alone. The other side of the solenoid may be connected to ground internally already, and D might be a switched output for 4th etc. Internal wiring varied over the years / applications.
If the fuse survives, get under it and see if you can hear the solenoid click in. It will be real soft, but audible.
Might also be a shorted solenoid. I had the opposite problem with mine when I was playing with it - solenoid was open circuit. Got a new one plus loom, plus connector, from the jy.
Also - you got the right pins? A is at the front, facing out. D is at the rear, facing out.

Re: tcc lock up help please
Will not be that loud when it clicks in, guess it gets muffled by the tranny. I don't think you'll hear it in the cabin - need to be underneath, turn the radio off and shut your friends up. Actually come to think of it, I had the pan off when I was working on mine and it was still real quiet.
That's a sizeable fuse you're blowing, must be a hard short. Do you have a multimeter - check the coil resistance across A-D - can't remember exactly what it should be but I'd guess about 20-30 ohms, like a relay coil. If it's zero, maybe the solenoid's shot.
