Re: 12 BOLT HOUSING

moser and strange are the only people who make them AFAIK, you would probably have to call them or a dealer and order just the bare housing

Strange Engineering. I live right down the street from them.

Page 77-78 of their online catalog. I've been there 5 times at least and they're great people.

Re: 12 BOLT HOUSING

I'm not sure about a bare housing. Usually it will be part of a package which would include axles and maybe caliper mounts like in the above picture. Not everyone wants gears and carrier since they may already have what they want to install.

If you already have a spool, posi etc, just make sure you know the spline count before ordering the housing and axles. OEM 12 bolt spline count is 30. The axles should come with 5 x 4-3/4 bolt pattern for GM but if you have some ford rims that you wanted to use, you would need to get the 5 x 4-1/2 bolt pattern. This would also need a rotor or brake drum with the ford bolt pattern. You could also upgrade the wheel studs to 5/8" drive studs if you're making enough power to need them.

Re: 12 BOLT HOUSING

Wow, this is why I appreciate this Site, quick well informed responses, thank you guys, and AlkyIROC this is exactly the case, I have a series 4 unit and factory 30 spline axels, so I figured I'd just upgrade from the factory rear, again thank you Guys!
