200c Drive slips
Hey guys, as the title of the post says, drive slips. It slips in between first and second. But when i manually put it in first to second it doesn't slip. If i take off from a stand still and put it in second, it shifts from first to second without any slip. After slipping, it grabs and gives a little bit of a jerking action.
The transmission is a 200c, engine is original v6, has 113,000 miles. This didn't start happening until i had the catalytic converter cut out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: 200c Drive slips
The TV cable must be tight at WOT. If it is and it still does this, then from now on manually upshift it to prevent the slipping, otherwise the band will be junk in short order, and you will not have 2nd gear, after that you will lose 3rd gear quickly. If the fluid is in good shape and the slipping just started to occur, you could put in a larger 2nd apply servo to solve this. This will improve the 2-3 shift also. If you need one of these larger apply servos, I have a couple of them left from building these many years ago. They go for $75.00. These have a bigger apply area than the Grand National servos that came in the 2004R's.
