Flexplate Orientation Question
Flexplate Orientation Question
I am putting a 1990 5.7L engine together with a 700r tranny. Its going into an 84camaro. I know I need a 153 tooth flexplate for a single piece oil gasket (a post-1986 engine)
My question is this... Is there a way to properly orient my stock flexplate? Or does the flexplate just bolt together any way? (I understand it should face the right direction. I am asking about bolt holes...)
Thanks in advance.

Re: Flexplate Orientation Question
The weight will go forward so it doesn't interfere with the converter.
Re: Flexplate Orientation Question
Okay. I get it. You guys were absolutely right. The bolt holes only go in one way.
I actually found the flexplate I was looking for.
Now I am going to hook up a starter to see my compression.
Thanks y'all...
