Re: Need a new rear axle
Depends what you're looking for. A 90-92 diff has the larger 28 spline axles but you can easily upgrade your original diff to 28 spline also. Fourth gen diffs are no stronger than the 90-92 third gens.
There are no other direct bolt in junkyard diffs that you could use.
You could spend a lot of money to try to beef up your 10 bolt but by the time you're done, it will still have the tiny ring and pinion teeth.
Aftermarket diffs such as the 9", 12 bolt and dana 60 are a better option but can cost you $1000-$3000 depending on how you get it.
Best suggestion is to run what you currently have until it breaks then decide how much it's worth spending to upgrade to something better. The 10 bolt diff has been broken in street driven vehicles and has survived very fast 1/4 mile passes so it's a coin flip as to if it will last or not with your combination.

Re: Need a new rear axle
Strange Engineering is the only manufacturer for a direct bolt in D60.
www.strangeengineering.net
Catalog page 75. Fully assembled (less brakes) for $2349. Some vendors may offer it for less but it depends how complete it is. A Dana 60 is overkill for what you have. A basic 9" housing package is the cheapest way to go. Direct bolt in housing with axles for around $1000. You supply the center section and brakes.
