Sometimes transmission will shift into 3rd between 10 and 15 mph. I have to let off the gas then step on it to get it back to 2nd (or manually shift it). It only happens when the engine is at operating temp. Some days it does it a few times in a row (stop light after stop light) and other days only once, if ever. It shifts so fast it's like 1st.......2nd3rd.

Also will shift into OD by 25 MPH if i don't keep it in D. (this happens all the time)

I've adjusted the T.V. cable and that didn't make any difference. No codes come up either.

I've spent literally hours searching for this problem but have only found the opposite... "Shifting too late".

did u adjust the tv cable correctly ??? i would check there first its a cable on the throttle body that has a button have someone go wot while pushing the button in you will see the cable move out

If it doesn't end up being a problem with the adjustment of the TV cable, the only other thing I could think of to cause that problem would be the governor assembly. The governor is behind a round cover on the driver's side, tailshaft area of the trans. 99 times out of 100 it's the TV cable though.

 

Couldn't find the problem. Just got a rebuilt 700R4. That fixed it. I guess when in doubt... replace the whole thing. LOL!
