What are spools or mini spools? Whats the advantages or disadvantages? Would this be a hard thing to install? From what i gather they are lockers for your differential like a posi.

Re: What are spools or mini spools?
Lockers/Posi allow each side to rotate as the difference speeds needed when turning.
Mini Spools/Spools LOCK both axles together to rotate at the same speed 100% of the time. So when you turn, the inside tire is not allowed to slow down its rotation as needed so the inside tire will squeal/chirp when turning.
Mini Spools/Spools are really only good on straight line 1/4 mile grad racing cars. Yes, you can run them on the street, just be ready for the tire squeal decreased traction ability when turning. Definitely do not want to run one on a road/autocross course.

Mini spools are not very strong. They're intended for dirt track racing where wheel slip is expected.
For a street driven vehicle, you're much better off buying a good posi.

I ran a spool in my Bronco, but I didn't drive it like a sports car overly much... On the street, it will get squirrely but I enjoyed it more on the street to be honest haha.
