so your write ups are OUT STANDING!!!!! I just finnished up a T5 install in my Trans Am that came with a 700R4. here is my finnish up question.

the Trans Am is a 1985 with the 305TPI
the donor for the Bird was a 1983 Camaro with the 305 H.O.
BOTH have the cable speedo.

there is a plug in the side of both trannys.

the 700R4 has a for place square plug with three wires. Green Brown Pink
the T5 has a two place plug with two wires. Green Blue

which wires splice into each other?

thanks much!!!!!
Ken

Re: tranny swap wires
K im just going to talk to myself here..... did some way deep diving thru all the good stuff on this forum! this is what I have come to the conclusion of: three wires that origonaly went to the 700R4 tie up some where and ignore them. two wire plug on T-5 are for back up lights. they are the dark green and blue wires I mentioned at first post. they can be spliced into the wire cluster plug that went to the auto shifter, the back up lights there are the light green and blue wires......? im going to try tomorrow and see what I get.

Re: tranny swap wires
Sounds like you've got it... The plug on the passenger's side is the reverse lights.

thanks Drew! yeah there is so much info on here! I realy try to dig dig dig for what I need before starting a whole other thread. After reading for a few hours, and getting side tracked on other stuff that was interesting all comments / confirmations are always welcome as the information I put together was from numerous others asking questions.

thanks agian and this site ROCKS!
