700R4 rebuild queston.. (i know search)
Ok i have bought a 92 RS Camaro, 305 217,xxx miles on the car.
The car wont go into 3rd gear.. it hits hard into 2nd gear, and you can light the tires up in first gear.. So im gonna strip it down and rebuild it.
My queston.. witch kit should i get out of these 2... this is going to be a daily driver and dosnt need to be set up for high HP or for hot roding.. thats what my other camaro is for.
Kit 1 Deluxe Rebuild Kit: 700R4 Transmission 1987-1993
$129.55

Price $479.04

I have had GREAT luck with my Dodge trucks monster in a box so im sticking with them.. dad has a dodge truck same kit, and has been pulling trailers with it almost every time it leaves the house and the trans is still pulling strong after 4 years, and mine is 2 years old and pulled the new camaro home with no issues..
So witch of the two kits should i get, giving the info I have gave..
Wont go into 3rd... no matter what, dose not go in... 2nd hits HARD like, jerks the damn car when it hits, and it hits fast too.. 1st gear will light the tires up with no slipping at ALL...
So theres the info, dont need nothing to hold up to hot rodding just daily driving.
Thanks Ken (oh btw its for the gf as a 1 year anniversery present.. so i only got till feb 5 to get this done)

I would like to know this too, did you look into any other brands? How much tq/hp can that take I didn't see it on there site.

For the Mopar they seem to be ok. But as far as 700R4's & 4L60E's stay the hell away from them. There are way to many complaints on their stuff in the above mentioned transmissions. What works in one transmission does not mean it will work in another type of transmission.
