Re: stripped cross pin bolt help
Stripped the hex of the bolt?
Stripped the head off the threaded part of the bolt?
Stripped the threaded bolt off the smooth pin?
If it's still partially threaded into the diff and has no hex head, start w/ a small left hand drill bit at the centre of the remaining bolt.

See if you can turn the remnant out with a scriber or pick. Usually they break off at the last thread so there's not too much holding it in.

Re: stripped cross pin bolt help
Hmm, Never had that happen on a pin bolt. I'm guessing you used a 6 point socket, If it was me I would try tapping the next size smaller metric socket on the head, if that doesn't work I would drill a hole in the head and use a easy out. Sorry I couldnt be more help. Maybe someone else will chime in who have ran into that. Good luck.

There's a tool especially designed to extract these. Got mine from skyway tools: Differential Repair Kit ST 1440

Re: stripped cross pin bolt help
My guess is that he didn't use a 6-point--at least I've always used one to good effect; it's the 12-point that usually causes issues. At any rate, tool in post #17 of the link below:

Re: stripped cross pin bolt help
You can also use a lil valve grinding compound on all the sides of the bolt flats for more grip. If your trying to get it out you can use heat to loosen the thread locker 1st. That makes it easier to remove..
