Screwed on a t-5
Ok.so I bought a t-5 from a guy that told me he had pulled it from a 91 camaro v8. All of the research I had done up to the point of purchase said the v8s have 26 spline input shafts and the v6 has 14. So when I looked at the tranny it had the fine splines and everything felt smooth so I bought it. When I got it home I ran the numbers. ( won't wait to do that again) turns out its a 94 v6 wc t-5. F##k!!! Apparently between the years 93 and 96 ( I think) the v6 trannies had 26 splines and came in ford housings. Unf##kinbelievable!! My luck. So is there any bell housing made that would work to bolt this turd to a v8? I thought if I could at least get a little use out of it until I find the right one it would make me feel just a little less like an idiot. I don't want to shell out a bunch of cash on it if the parts won't work for a v8 tranny. Right now I've got an auto for the car but really want a 5 speed. Any of you guys used one of these? Know some one who has? Any help would be great.
Also. What does it take to put a turbo 350 out of a 2 wheel drive truck in an 87 camaro? Is there a gearing difference in a truck tranny? Thanks for reading guys

There probably is an adapter, but I would do some unmentionables to the guy that sold that to you, but you bought it. What kind of motor do you have, and what year car? Someone else will chime in about the adapter or trans bellhousing

Will the parts fit in a 3rd gen case? If so you could get a case and drop them in it.
You need to install the input shaft in his output hole. He knew or he is retarded - choose one.

Re: Screwed on a t-5
I have a 92 R/S with a T-5 and a V8. Based on my experience and other stuff I have read here, Camaro T-5's suck. They put T-5's in Mustangs too but the have a different, stronger bell housing. Mine fell apart and had to be rebuilt after I added a catback and better suspension to my 305. If you can get yours installed, it will probably be better than the 91 Camaro one.
If you are going to spend the money on another transmission, get a real one like a T-56. There are lots of adapters available for installing in a 3rd gen, and it is much stronger too.

If you wanna put a TH350 in a 3rd gen you can do it with this adapter for the crossmember & torque arm:

BTW, I blew up three '92 T5's behind a 305 before I went to a 300HP 350 and the Tremec TKO...no more trans problems...ever.

Re: Screwed on a t-5
I bought 2 cars to make 1. The body I am using is an 87 t top v6 car. I bought an 85 z 28 for a doner. I'm using a 1968 327 for the motor which I'm in the process of rebuilding. Both cars came with 700r4 trannies. The v6tranny obviously won't work and I believe the other is on its last leg.
