clutch help
I have an 83z28 clutch won't fully disengage. Never had a mechanical clutch before.How do you adjust it? Thanks

Loosen the lock nut, unscrew the rod to make it longer, tighten the nut back.
You ABSOLUTELY MUST leave a small amount of free play at the top of the pedal's motion, maybe ¾" or so, otherwise the clutch will slip and burn up quickly.
As the clutch wears, the free play goes away (pedal returns higher and higher when you take your foot off) and has to be restored from time to time by adjusting. VERY rare for them to need adjusting the other way.
I'm guessing there's some history here? Tell us what's REALLY going on instead of diving into it all the way at the end and maybe we can get you to the right answer quicker.

Clutch engages very close to the floor and it is it getting a little hard to shift
