Questions about rearend swap.

Right now my 89 Iroc-Z (I think) has the 9 bolt with 2.77 gears. Well I've got any 82 T/A with a 10 bolt housing. Will the 10 bolt be a direct replacement for the 9 bolt? Both cars have drum brakes. I've got 28 spline axles, a 2002 LS1 carrier, and a set of 3.42 gears I want to put under it. Also how hard is the speedo gears to change in a 700 R4. Thanks
