Transmission question

I had my car at dyno don shop he found a leak in the lines I had installed I drove it back to lancaster , ca.. traffic was bad basically the trans felt ok some slip was noticeable over drive was good but then I ran dry I know it was bad I put in my last $10 on atf which is not much but made it home it made some unusual wine noises and did not want to shift to overdrive due to little or no oil cause it leaked it my question is if I drove it like that is there a possibility that I burned up the friction plates and messed up the trans and would have to rebuild or get a new one or might it barely make it by fixing the leak and adding atf and filter?

Thanks for the input I will do that plus it's a cheap way to know if its good or bad just by adding new fluid and a filter and like you said see if it drives

Re: Transmission question

Id fix that leak also before you test it because it might affect how it shifts, slips, and all that. lucas trans fix seems to work good if its still acting funny. For sure took some life out of it if not all.

True that the leak is a loss of pressure ...I hoping I didn't mess up the transmission to much
