torque arm wrong 88wc t5 in 83 trans am
Im almost finished doing my 700r4 to t5 swap but the torque arm bolts dont line up to my tranny. I heard the torque arms were the same for the 700r4 to the t5. Can any body tell me which torque arm I need to get,and where from.
Thanks,Eric

Yup; the whole TA bracket thing is different between the 700 one and the T-5 one.
Doesn't matter which design of T-5 it is though; you just gotta have a T-5 TA bracket, and the bushing in it must match your torque arm's "lips".

There are 3 versions of the torq arm.
82/83 plus the 2 you mention.

OP's best bet is to get the arm off a 1984 or newer car then get the matching bushing to go in a newer T5 bracket.

Wrong.
Here's the swap he's doing.
That doesn't involve the stuff that came in these car in 82.
He already has one of the 2 right TAs; now all he needs is a T-5 bracket, with the "lips" in the rubber pointed the right way to match whichever of the 2 83-up TAs his car happens to have.

There's a diagram in the following link that shows the two different "lips":
