How much does a Built 700R4 usually cost?

I am looking for a tranny that will hold about 400rwhp on motor, and around 500 on spray.

How much will a good built 700r4 cost me? What are some affordable companies.

Right now it is a toss up between a built stalled 700r4 or a T56 swap. I have a feeling a T56 swap might end up being cheaper.

I know a BTO 700r4 Stage 3 full manual valve body is going for around $1900 and is rated for 630 HP/TQ max. The same is available in a true auto, without the manual valve body, for about $1600. Both come with a 1 year warranty and BTO has a good reputation for build quality. Edit: Sorry I guess I should say BTO = Bowtie Overdrives.

Would that require me to chop into my transmission tunnel? And isn't it electronically controlled?

I should add that I am on a pretty strict time budget... a T56 swap is in reason time wise though.

i have a 480e in my garage.... WAY too big and alot heavier and you need a conversion hub to fit the driveshaft of our cars...... its alot of work... i would go with dana's street/strip tranny.... its 1900 dollars on his site.... plus add another 750 for a vigilante stall... that would be a super setup and you will love it..
