Need a new clutch and need advice!
So the clutch in my 86 finally took a dump. After 7 years, two motors and two flywheels and three different transmissions the clutch is slipping at 3k and up when the car is hot.
Anyways its time to replace my beloved that has served me well. I currently have a centerforce dual friction stage 2 clutch kit and a cheapo flywheel (which im thinking in the cause of the slippage).
I foresee another motor in the future (350 or lsx) so im not sure i want to put the centerforce back in the car and spend $300 on the clutch kit and then put a new motor/trans in that wont work but at the same time I think the money will be going towards a house instead of a new motor to replace a perfectly fine running motor with 3500 miles on it.
Although its going to cost more than I want to spend I think im going to put the same clutch back in with a billet steel flywheel. I figure that combination will hold up to a few track runs and some 'rear tire durability tests'. I only want to replace it once not several times because of a stock replacement clutch that cant hold for crap.
so im just looking for some input and any other recommendations on flywheels/clutch kits you guys are running.
Oh and currently the car has 305 w/ heads, cam, exhaust, soon to be computer tune, tpi, 3.27 posi 9 bolt, t5
thanks!

Im running a stock lightweight flywheel (2 piece rms) with a ram HD clutch kit. Its holding up awesome behind my high compression 355 tpi. Not sure that will be any less expensive than the centerforce clutch you are thinking of running again.
