Hello i have a weird problem i bought this 85 z28 last year and its in mint shape. the old owner put 373 rear end in it and i just bought 18" rims for it and passenger side rear quarter rubs when i go over a bump so i looked at it and found that the rearend is 3/4 of a inch more to one side could the old owner not align the rear end right when he did the 373 swap and if so is it hard to fix it. thanks

 

An adjustable panhard will do the trick.

The previous owner did nothing wrong. Those things are always offest & you never realize it until you try to stuff wide tires.

And yes...Buying an Adjustable PHB will solve the problem.

I never noticed how bad mine was until I installed some big slicks. The car body is nowhere near symmetrical from side to side. An adjustable panhard bar can help to center the tires under the fenders but then suspension components won't be lined up properly.

 

is that the only way to shift the rear end to one side becuase everywhere a looked to buy one it 4 to 6 weeks to get it so just wondering if there was a nother way

where are you looking and what country are you in? this is a common parts you can get anywhere, usually a week from most large outfits and carriers.

Unless it's big and heavy needing truck freight, normal shipping to canada is 7-10 business days even if shipped through the postal system. Extra time may be needed clearing customs. I've had stuff stuck in customs for 3 days waiting for it to clear. Other things have cleared in a matter of hours.

The only time it would take forever to ship across the border would be during holidays or if you lived in the middle of nowhere and an item needs an extra day to go through each processing facility.

If you live close enough to the border, you can also look into border storage facilities. Some companies will ship across the states for free to places like this. You then go across the border, pick up the item, pay the border fees and bring it home usually for less than what it would have cost to ship across the border. The bigger and heavier the item is, the cheaper it is to go across the border and pick it up providing you live close enough and a storage facility is available. The storage facilities charge a very minimal fee.
