700R4 Shifting woes

New Question:
When I originally removed the trans from donor car I lowered the trans and didnt unhook the tv cable with the trans, I did unbolt the housing but didnt unhook it. Could I have stretched something or bent something within the trans?

*Issue*Quick 1-2 Shifts at WOT and Bad downshifting when WOT passing.

I have searched through the past 700r4 Threads and have come up with a couple solutions.. Here is my problem. I have a 1991 700r4 at WOT the shifts from 1-2 seem to be way early. At a stop I can mat it to the floor and it shifts before it feels like I get moving. Also having an issue with WOT downshifts at cruising speed, as in I stomp on it and it doesn't downshift properly. Acts like it goes from 4-3 with no passing ability.

Already: Adjusted the TV cable, checked the governor..

Solutions found?: Governor gear recalibrate, corvette servo..

Cons: The motor and trans is now in a 1989 camaro. I swapped all the engine harness and wiring, But I did not change the dash wiring. Also speedo on trans is elec and car body is mech

What could be causing the quick shifts and the ******* downshift at passing WOT.
Could the electric speedo on the trans not be getting a proper read since it doesnt connect to the cars actual speedo?

Re: 700R4 Shifting woes

I am by far not an expert, but it sounds like the car is not communicating proper engine RPMs to the transmission.

Re: 700R4 Shifting woes

Thats similar to what I was thinking. But its not an electric trans, I thought that the 700r4 was just controlled by fluid pressure.. I dunno Im hoping to find a fix through some expert help on here..

Re: 700R4 Shifting woes

I'm actually having a similar issue. I swapped from 305 to 350 but haven't got my chip yet. I expected it to run rich but not the tranny issues. I did notice some silinoids on it that seemed cracked/broke when i disconnected them and dropped my tranny for install. I also thought the 700r4 we non electronic.

Re: 700R4 Shifting woes

The 700r4 isnt electric, it uses pressure to do all the work, only thing electric i believe is the converter lockup. Im still having the same problem, think Im going to break down and go to trans shop.
