Heres 2 videos. This converter was recently put in, and the proceedure to it was fine. Im not sure if it made this sound before the converter as I never really put it into 1st or 2nd gear manually and thats when youll hear the loud clatter/whine.

This vid is 1ft from the converter itself

This is from in the car/outta the car.

Re: Bad converter...yes or no.

Is it possible that the starter's engage gear is rubbing against the flywheel?

Re: Bad converter...yes or no.

it ended up being a bad converter, he took the converter back and got a new one and the noise went away
