Re: Anyone Knows What Type Of Posi This Is

Looks alot like an Auburn I had that failed, out of about a 96 or 97.

Doesn't even remotely resemble the Eaton I have now.

Look for this symbol right here on it.

It's the Auburn logo.

If it has that, I'd recommend not putting it in your car.

Here's what an Eaton REALLY looks like.

Re: Anyone Knows What Type Of Posi This Is

I run the 99-02 Zexel torsen diffs out of the late model fbodys... good stuff. 9 second power and still havent broke it. Only managed to chip a worm gear tooth on the outer edge but that was from doing rear end kick outs at 40mph and letting off throttle to lock up the rear, or so I believe. Never hurt it in a straight line.

Re: Anyone Knows What Type Of Posi This Is

Get an eaton. Eatons are rebuildable at home, where as the Auburn isnt. An Auburn can be rebuilt, just not by you with ordinary tools

Not really any such thing... you just got one that isn't wore out yet. But don't worry, from your description, sounds like it won't take long.

An Auburn can't be rebuilt with ANY tools, because they won't sell you the parts if the carrier is older than about 3 years. Call em and ask if you don't believe me, BEFORE you buy.
