Re: New rear axle

You can upgrade your 10 bolt but eventually you will have to change it to something better so theres no sense spending money twice.

Buy a 9" housing package. You get a 9" bolt in housing and axles and you can use your current brakes on it. All you would need to do is pick up a center section locally. I'm not sure what the availability of a 9" center would be in Sweden. Don't even bother with 28 spline axles. Go right to 31 spline.

Unfortunately, shipping costs will probably eat most of your budget.

Re: New rear axle

9", not 9 bolt. You need to buy an aftermarket Ford 9" designed for 82-92 third gens. It will have all the proper mounting attachments for the shocks, springs, torque arm etc. Trying to find and use a junkyard diff will take a bunch of refabrication of the suspension system to get it to work.

The 9" housing package with axles is somewhere around $1000. No center section, no brakes.
