Ok So,

I picked up an 88 camaro 305 tbi with the 700 r4 and it has a 273 posi rear. When i pull out normally no issues but when i pull out hard (wot) I get a lound bang from the rear of the car. I mean extremely loud. My question is anybody know what could be causing this? It seems to happen when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and it is definetly coming from the rear of the car.

 

Broken transmission mount?

 

Torque arm? Check it all.

 

Let us know what you find.

 

Agree on the trans mount, broke mine a couple of times and it does feel liek it's coming from the rear..it's not.

Trans mount, just buy a poly one, the rubber ones don't last.
