Pro Built Automatics
I know a lot of people here have experience with Dana and Pro Built and I was just curious if anybody had any ideas on turn around time. I understand he gets busy and all of my attempts to contact him have been unsuccessful.
My order went from queued to processed and I was just curious how long to expect for shipping after that. It's just a rebuild kit for a 700r4. It's been over a week since that changed.
It's not a huge issue and after reading from everyone else in here I trust everything will work out fine. I'm more or less just trying to plan my project.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Phone every day or twice a day if you can. Once you get an answer from him phone every couple of days to remind him. Great kits/products, VERY knowledgeable, always willing to help you out with questions but he NEEDS someone to handle and process orders.
Re: Pro Built Automatics
Yeah, I noticed that. The first time I ever tried to call before ordering I got lucky and got a hold of him and I couldn't believe the wealth of knowledge he was willing to provide. That's a lot of what sold me on going with him.
I did finally get ahold of him the same day he was shipping it out. I have my kit now. It's funny because this is my first rebuild and it always looks straight forward when you research things and then you open the boxes with the kits and it's like WTF did I get myself into haha.
Yeah definitely seems like a great guy. Just needs a little extra hand like you mentioned. Anyway, thanks for the info.

Re: Pro Built Automatics
Ya I hear you I'm in the middle of my first build too. I probably picked the worst core to rebuild. I have had to replace a lot of the hard parts that you normally wouldn't have to. Have to order good used stuff from a trans wrecker and play the waiting game just to find something eles isn't right. Should be goodonce I'm done. Good luck!
Re: Pro Built Automatics
That's the one lucky thing for me. I have a perfectly running tranny out of an 88 camaro that was working fine before it got parked years ago. So since the tranny in my 86 went I took that to rebuild and beef it up before I put it in. Now I just have to get one for my 88 now once I work on getting her back on the road.
Re: Pro Built Automatics
Ya, next trans I build I will try to find a low milage unit and or grab a few cores to tare down so I have a selection of parts to choose from. BTW, my core came out of a cop car with around 190,000 miles on it. NOT a good choice. However it did come with Corvette valve body and matching governor.

Re: Pro Built Automatics
Its been a while since I contacted him but I had the best luck around 7 am EST. He works nights and sleeps during the day. I went over my build with him, took about 30-45 minutes on the phone. He was very thorough, we started at the torque converter and worked our way back to the extension housing. After I sent the money it took about 2 weeks for everything to arrive. I ordered a lot of items, some things he had to order, some were drop shipped. Dealing with him was well worth the wait. He knows what works and what doesn't when it comes to the 4L60E.
