Hell need help I put my 1989 Camaro RS on the road after being in storage for two year as I drove on the road I notice some noise coming from the rear end more like a humming sound. I stop at a local mechanic shop he mention rebuiding the rear for $700.00 with one year warranty. I DONT KNOW IF HE PULLING MY LEG. mAY TAKE MY CHANCE ON A USE ONE ANY IDEALS ON WHAT I SHOULD DO AT THIS POINT I DONT REALLY WANT TO KEEP DRIVING THE CAR LIKE THIS/

I hate to ask but have you checked the fluid level??? Highly possible it could have leaked out while the car was sitting for that long. If it has the proper amount of fluid I would drive it and see if the noise goes away (odds are if it doesn't go away in a day or two its not gonna).

Before this thread gets moved I'll add my 2 cents.
Do not spend $700 to rebuild your rear end, even if it does turn out to need a rebuild just go down to the junkyard and get a replacement.
