how do i get the 5 speed back in??!!
I am working on replacing the clutch from a 1986 camaro 305 and cant seem to get the trans back into position. I have the car up on jackstands with the engine mount bolts taken out and I can't seem to get the tranny back thru the tunnel and mounted to the engine!! I am always binding the input shaft on the pressure plate and cant get past that. Are there any special tricks or hints someone can give me please? I have decent knowledge on what to do, but I cant get this problem solved!

try lowering the back of the motor downward and angle the trans up to it so they are lined up just right and it should slip together, i had to fight with mine as well

It helps if you have a bar adjuster on your engine crane so you can tilt the motor at an angle to line them up, but even then there is no easy way to do it, just keep trying with pry bars until they line up.
