Where to find a complete rear diff?
Im looking for a complete rear diff for my car. I went to Moser's website because they are pretty much the only place I know to look. Heres what I found...
http://www.moserengineering.com/12-bolt-musclepak.html
As you can see, its pretty expensive, but this is pretty much exactly what Im looking for. The price is not so enticing, but I do want a complete rear end with drum brakes, posi, and 3.73 gears. When I add up all of what I need on that page, it comes out to just under 4 grand! (with shipping)
I searched other threads but couldn't find a fitting answer.
My question then is, what are my other options? What other companies or places can I find what Im looking for? I would prefer a new rear, but if anyone knows where I can find a used, strong and reliable one, Im willing to check it out.
In another thread, I found this by AlkyIROC, quote "The alternative is spending over $2500 for a complete aftermarket bolt in diff. It would be the better option but many people can't afford such a high investment in one shot."
Any idea which one he's referring to? $2500 sounds a LOT better than $3900!
Any help, ideas, suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Depends on how much you want to spend. The more things you get included and the higher end parts you pick, the more it's going to cost. There is no real inexpensive alternative for a better diff unless you're willing to do fabrication work to swap to a system that doesn't use a torque arm or fabricate a way to use the torque arm.

Re: Where to find a complete rear diff?
OK I know its been a while but I have a couple questions when filling out the order form and knowing what exactly I need.
1. What is my center section? What do I select and how do I base my decision?
2. What size wheel studs do I need? What is standard for our cars?
3. How do I choose brakes? I would prefer drum brakes for the rear, but some of the pulldown options say "82-92 drum brakes will NOT fit". If this is not an option, will 93-97 or 98-02 drum brakes fit? Or if i do have to go to disc brakes, how much of a hassle would it be to do it?
