Tranny Id experts within please...

Pulled my tranny because I had to change out a pos quicktime flexplate that apparently is warped that I didnt notice out of the box, but thats another story. My car was purchased with 50,000 on it and had a friend of mine who owns a tranny shop rebuild it years ago. Shift kit transgo, servo, the usual. Well when I pulled it I noticed it is stamped Service Replacement Transmission Assembly. Wth does that mean?? Did the original probably before me take a dump and this is the replacement unit gm installs? Its stamped md8 like all 700r4s. But just wanted to clarify this. Thank you and take care.

A SRTA is a GM reman. with all upgrades at the time. They typically are a good trans.

You are good to go..... its a GM build. Put a big transmission cooler on there if you don't already have one....
